About the charity

The Marc Edwards Legacy Project

The Marc Edwards Legacy Project (MELP) was founded in honour of Marc Edwards, co-founder of Andor Management Limited (AML), whose passion for people and community left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Established in partnership with Burnley FC in the Community, and with the full support of Marc’s family, MELP exists to carry forward the values Marc lived by. Investing in young people, creating opportunity, providing mentorship, and building brighter futures for those who need it most.

Through this work, MELP will support initiatives that give young people the confidence, guidance and opportunities to realise their potential. By bringing people and organisations together, the project aims to create a positive and lasting difference within the community, ensuring Marc’s legacy continues to inspire and support future generations.

WHAT WE DO

Who We Support

MELP Focuses on supporting young people across Burnley and the surrounding areas who may face barriers to opportunity, whether through disadvantage, personal circumstances, lack of confidence, or simply not having access to the right support at time. We believe, like Marc did, that every young person should have the opportunity to discover their potential, develop skills and feel positive about the future.

Our aim in conjunction with Burnley FC In The Community (BFCITC) is to create opportunities that help young people build confidence, develop positive relationships and gain the skills, experience and knowledge they need to move forward. By working alongside BFCITC who work with young people, families, community organisations and local partners, MELP will provide support that is practical positive and focus on creating lasting change.

Education & Skills

Helping young people build the confidence, knowledge and practical skills they need for future.

MELP will support opportunities that encourage young people to learn, develop new skills and discover their strengths. Whether through education, training, workshops, mentoring or new experiences, the aim is to help young people feel better prepared and more confident about the opportunities ahead of them.

Wellbeing & Belonging

Creating safe, positive and inclusive environments where young people feel seen, heard and valued.

A strong sense of wellbeing and belonging can make a real difference to a young person’s confidence and outlook. MELP will help provide the young people a safe space to build trusted relationships and create opportunities for young people to connect with others, express themselves and feel part of something.

Community Connection

Bringing young people together to feel part of something with BFCITC having Turf Moor as a hub it gives a sense of belonging and community.

We believe positive change happens when people work together. MELP will help to provide a place for the young people to feel part of something outside of school and given the opportunity to grow. By strengthening their feeling of community, it will help build a community where young people feel inspired, included and supported to express themselves.

Aspiration & Achievement

Helping young people set goals, find positive role models and believe that their ambitions are attainable and achievable.

Ultimately MELP is about creating opportunity, building confidence and helping young people realise their potential. By investing in them today, we hope to make a postie and lasting impact on not only the young people but their families, the community and everyone in the wider Burnley community for years to come.
