AML’s Managing Director, Terry Elrick, and Solutions Director, Paul Spooner, travelled to London on Wednesday, 26 August, to attend the launch event for LEPAS, the new design-led electrified vehicle brand from Chery International.
The event provided an opportunity for the AML leadership team to experience first-hand the latest developments from one of the automotive sector’s newest brands as it prepares to establish its presence in the UK.
LEPAS arrives with a strong focus on electrified mobility, advanced technology and distinctive design. The brand’s first UK model, the LEPAS L8, is a five-seat plug-in hybrid SUV, with the wider range set to include hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles. The UK launch represents another significant step in Chery International’s continued expansion within the British automotive market.
While attending the event, Terry and Paul also had the opportunity to meet Mornine, an advanced bipedal humanoid robot powered by Embodied AI.
The encounter offered a fascinating insight into how developments in artificial intelligence and robotics are increasingly sitting alongside innovation in the automotive industry.

For AML, attending the launch was an opportunity to see the next stage of automotive and technology innovation at close quarters.
